I’m Gary. Retired, living in San Antonio for the last 22 years, and this is where I keep coming back to between trips.

Over the years I’ve traveled and photographed birds through Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Ecuador, and Colombia. I’ve also been to the Yucatán before, photographing birds there. Now I’m heading back into Mexico — starting in Oaxaca — for something different: a slower, more dedicated kind of birding trip. No itinerary to rush through, no checklist to finish. I stay in a region until I’ve explored it properly, then move on to the next.

This site is just a record of that. Birds, travel, photography. Nothing fancy.
